Vegan & GF Crispy Air Fryer Green Beans Recipe

Making Green Beans in an air fryer is as easy as it can get. And it is not the only thing you can make in an air-fryer.

Since these are air-fryer recipes, that doesn’t mean that you can’t make these in your oven. The timing will remain the same but time will increase.

A great reason why I chose to use air-fryer instead of the oven for many easy recipes. Air fryer cooks food faster than the oven.

Those blistered crispy green beans are just so amazing in every single bite. Still juicy inside and perfectly done outside.

You can serve these as a side dish or make a quick & healthy SNACK or serve with some salad for a light lunch.

I sprinkled a tsp of hemp seeds on top. That added a nice texture & more nutrition to it. You can add roasted almond slices, dry cranberries or any topping if you want.

Ingredients

You will love it more and agree that it is that perfect side dish to go with any meal. Just handful of ingredients to put it together.

How to make Crispy Green Beans in Air Fryer?

Prepping the String Beans

The beans need to be washed in a Kitchen Colander and dried completely on their surface. If they are even slightly damp, they might not crisp up to your liking. You can use pre washed packaged green beans as well for this recipe to make it time efficient.

Take a Mixing Bowl and add washed & dried green beans to it. Now add Olive Oil , Salt, Black Pepper & Red Chili flakes (optional) to the bowl. Mix the spices well with beans with Mixing Spoon. Make sure to coat them good. Use your fingers if needed.

Air Frying Green Beans

Plug in your Air Fryer. Place the Green beans in the basket. Do not over crowd these. I made mine in 2 batches to get that crispy texture.

Push the basket in. Set the timer and temperature. Air fry till crispy and slightly blistered. Give them a good shake in between.

If you are using thin beans, they will cook faster. And if you are using regular green beans, they will take slightly longer, but still under 10 minutes.

Can I use Canned Green Beans for the recipe?

You probably can. I have not used the canned ones. But make sure to dry them completely from outside before you air fry these.

How can I make Weight watchers friendly Crispy Air Fryer Green Beans?

Swap the Olive Oil with a spray or 2 of Olive Oil Spray to make them healthier and weight watchers friendly.

Can I make these ahead of time and reheat as needed?

I would not recommend it ahead of time. To enjoy crispy texture, you must air fry these at the time of meal. It does not take time at all. By the time you will set up the dinner table, these will be done and ready to eat.

Why is my food not crispy in the air fryer?

Now you have to make sure that the outer skin of the vegetable that you air fry is super dry.

Also make sure that you oil/grease it evenly. Do not over oil it unless you really want to.

What other flavors I can add to Green Beans?

Chose whatever you like. Go for curry spice, or Italian spice. Or just add garlic salt to it. You can experiment with it as you like. Top these with some almond flakes, or nutritional yeast, sesame seeds, or parmesan, and even hemp hearts. Personalize these to your choice.
