This is a special Guest Post for a dear blogger friend Suzanne @ A pug in the Kitchen! If you ask me why special? Then Suzanne is just extra ordinary. She is not only a fabulous blogger with a creative and experienced hand in the kitchen, but also, she is very compassionate, supportive and helpful. It’s truly an honor for me to do a guest post for her!

Some of my favorite recipes from her blog that I want to try are the ones mentioned below and many more :).

Apple & Pear Fall Tart

Roasted Tomato, Ricotta & Herb Tart

Spaghetti With Broccoli And Garlic And Parmigiano Lemon Bread Crumbs

Tender Yellow Cake

Orange Angel Food Cup Cakes

I follow her @ Pinterest , Twitter & Instagram ! You may just click these to follow her :).

I think I first met her through Fiesta Friday by Angie, over an year ago, and since then I have been spoiled by her through her ever encouraging comments and constant presence. Thank you Suzanne for being there.

I was very confused as to, what to bring for a guest post for her. I wanted to create a dish which was Indian origin but at the same time, something which has an international appeal and an easy to implement recipe. Few ingredients and great textures when combined with excellent complex flavors, is always a winner. Indian flavors are complex, well most of the time but their recipes do not need to be long and complex at all the time.

I believe that the “Life is already complicated, our Recipes do not need to be”.

I hope you all like what I have created for Suzanne. The Curried Eggplant Steaks are winner for sure, for vegetarians and non vegetarians as well! The texture is really great – soft and fleshy with little bit of spice and mint-hint.

The chickpeas are made in thick Indian Tomato Sauce with few easily available spices, and voila…a full meal is done in no time.

Also, taking this to Throwback Thursday’s by Meaghan, Alli, Mollie & Quinn ! My first ever submission there! Hope the folks like it there :).

  1. I must have this immediately! I love all of these ingredients and this combination just sounds delicious. I love that it’s complex flavors but easy to make – my kind of meal! (And so glad to meet you through Throwback Thursday – new blogger friends are the best!)

  2. First of all, to break in on the mutual admiration party, lol! I have to say I love both your blogs. Sonal, you’re a constant source of inspiration with your photography and gorgeous, healthy meals and Suzanne, you’re always out there taking on challenge after challenge, both on your blog and on Food52 just doing what you do, but doing it so well.

And I’ve met so many wonderful bloggers on Fiesta Friday – it’s caused me to challenge myself in so many ways and really changed the whole aspect of blogging for me.

So thank you for linking up to Throwback Thursday, which is a new endeavor – and although it is another link party, it has it’s own unique flavor and aspects.

I’ll tell ya what, I wish a trip was in my future, what a party that would be! 🙂

    1. Hugs dear lady!! You left me speechless! I will be a regulator at throwback Thursdays too…and would try to mingle… I guess more parties, more to learn and more to network too!!
      Love Suzanne completely!!
Look forward to connecting more with you!❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. That second last photo, above the comments, is stunning! Oh, can you do me a favour and compound (join up) the extra and ordinary – it’s extraordinary you’re looking for. What you’ve written is the complete opposite. 🙂 And Suzanne ain’t dull!

  4. Sonal,
You and Suzanne both rock! I totally agree with your comment about Suzanne being a kind and compassionate blogger friend. You girls are both simply awesome! And what is this talk of a get together? I am totally crashing it:) I am close to Boston if you gals are traveling on the east coast.
I love eggplant and the steaks are a favorite! I love how you have cut it lengthwise. Looks awesome. I always cut it across but yours looks much better.Heading over to Suzanne’s to read your recipe!

  5. Two experienced and talented bloggers that I admire from afar! So wonderful that you gals got together and initiated this. I admire both your blogs and your creativity in the kitchen. If you gals get together in NYC, I’m coming unannounced, as my girls live and work there. Suzanne runs an exquisite B & B. It will be a party, I promise to bring something :). Sonal, this is a gorgeous guest post, I could polish all of that with some fresh naan bread. Well done ladies, you inspire us all!

    1. Oh I didn’t know that part about Suzanne :). B&B sounds so good!!
More the merrier Loretta!! If I am up East coast, Wilmington is on the cards too since we still have many friends there to visit :))…

  6. Thank you for doing the guest post and you are so so kind. You have to know how much I admire you and how much you inspire me. Every post I see on your blog spurs me to try new something new, something outside of my comfort zone, you have taught me not to be afraid of spice and have inspired healthful eating habits. Now I will have to tackle pressure cookers, LOL

    1. I am just speechless Suzanne!!
The feelings are completely mutual dear lady!! I admire you a lot not only for the kind of talented blogger you are but also for a wonderful person you are!! It’s my good luck that we met ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️..
I am sure that we will meet in person sometime for sure..
I wish I knew you earlier when I lived in suburbs of Phily. We used to visit NYC city often!! Have to show the city to my little one…may be soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️
