Melting in the mouth Truffles

Such a simple treat. You know how it came to my kitchen top? After dinner cravings by the whole family. I had 4 Rocher Ferrero chocolates left with me. We all ate 1 each and then everybody craved more. No I am not claiming mine to be tasty like the branded Rocher Ferrero but my family enjoyed it. The branded Rocher Ferrero is a master piece , an art and oh so delicious but then that’s why we buy these from the market. The first time I bought them from the market was 16 years ago in India at the price of Rs. 800-1000. It was too much, almost $16 – $20 for a pack of 16 pieces I guess. But I indulged since I got my first internship salary and bought a box for my family :).. My mom dad sister and brothers. Such are the joys.

I tried my hand on these at home this time. Everybody enjoyed them. Super simple!

Ingredients :
Halznuts : 3/4 cup *you may use other nuts like almonds and pecans or walnuts and pistachios.
Semi sweet chocolate chips : 1 cup
Milk : 2 tbsp

Method :

Keep a baking tray ready with parchment paper.

Toast the hazelnuts on low flame. Cool them. Now crush them coarsely either in food processor or in a bag with a batton.. I mean a rolling pin…lol 🙂 .

Now melt the chocolate chips with milk in a pan on low flame.

Switch off the flame when chocolate melts. Add crushed hazelnuts and mix well.

Now take a deep spoon or measuring tablespoon. Scoop the mixture and drop on the parchment paper.

Finish the mixture similarly. It will yield 15-16 truffles. Refrigerate them in the fridge for couple of hours and then all ready to be enjoyed. Another suggestion is just set it like that in a small square cake tin. Set it and then cut in squares.
