Angie, this time I am coming to your Fiesta Friday with some Indian Handicrafts to share.
I am bringing a Leftover Dish to chew on but that’s it about the food this time….no recipes! I hope the guests would like it and I will get to see more arts and enjoy some yummy food and get some wine or champagne opened to relax down this Friday night.
Here are my “Leftover Flatbreads to share. They are made with leftover curried cauliflower and potato stir fry along with some curried lentils, kneaded with whole wheat flour and shallow fried in the pan. Enjoy these with the Dry Fruits Chutney that I prepared yesterday. Okay Food done!
Now on to my Display. Hey, do you have a table that I can borrow to display my Indian handicrafts.? Umm, sorry I forgot to bring mine. Actually it was too big to fit in my iPad. Are you laughing? No…seriously! For next time, I will buy a virtual small folding table for my displays and bring that. Just bear with me this time.
May I make a request everybody? Please feel free to touch and feel everything but just don’t drop..few things are fragile :). A humble request!
1. Hand Embroidered, Patch work, Colorful Cushion covers
2. A Hand Painted, Woden Tissue Box
3. Carved Metal Pot and Gold Painted
4. A Beautiful Carved Marble Box
5. A Collection of Hand Painted Miniature Folk Music Men
6. My Marble Mortar and Pestel
9. A Carved and Hand Painted Mini Box
10. An arranged Indian Backdrop in one corner of my home
11. A Folk Threaded Hanging with hand stitched abstract elephants, hanging on one of my windows.
Did everybody get a chance to touch and feel? Well the display is in till next week. Lease stop by for this mini tour to India. Till then I will be enjoying on the dishes and jokes and everything that you have brought to the party today 🙂 .

Love your handmade items!!! I must have some of the cushion covers!! Beautiful!
:).. They sure are gorgeous. I used to run a home based boutique in Pennsylvania where I kept Indian handicrafts and articles. Sold a lot of these kind of covers. I still have some left with me in hand embroidery. I have been moving so much lately…o packed everything in a box. Now time again to open that magic box :).

Your hanging elephants remind me of some my son has from my sister in law’s trip to India. He also has elephants and another one of colourful stars. So pretty! Your whole collection is really nice, actually!
Thanks Sopnia..good to see you after a long time..how have you been dear ?
Hugs!
I’m actually quite sick, I think I have bronchitis! It’s been a little bit of a rough start to the year, but regardless, I am well. Thank you so much for asking.
I also just did a major clean up to the blogs I added to my reader, so now I see the ones I really enjoy simply and more frequently. How are you, Sonal?
Oh my….I really hope you feel better soon sweetheart! That’s terrible! My best wishes and warm hugs to you my dear <3.
The blog clean up sounds like a good idea. I have added so many lately that I amissng out on the ones that enjoy because if the traffic I guess…one weekend I have to do that!
I am keeping well and busy with life?..which is actually good for my restless being :).
Thank you, Sonal. I hope to feel better soon!
I too had added too many, and then I found it overwhelming to actually read and enjoy them. So it was pointless. I removed close to 400 (crazy, I know!) and now I have the ones I love and read throughout. I figure, I will search by tags if I want to do more reading and interact with more bloggers. No need to necessarily have it all in my reader.
I’m glad you are keeping well! xo

Wow, they’re all beautiful, Sonal. But I got my eyes on the carved marble and silver boxes. Everybody seems to have his/her own preference. Just goes to tell you, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You art gallery is fully open now, looks like. 🙂
:). That marble box is a beauty..delicate and elegant!
The 2 silver boxes that you liked are special to me since my mom gave these to me :).
My art gallery is opening up now :). Thanks to you wonderful idea of this event….it is bringing the best out from everybody’s closet :).
May be next time, I will bring a collection of Indian semi precious and costume jewelry pieces that I have an in-house boutique for :).
I used to lust after Indian saree cloth, the ones with gold embroidery. You got them? They are beyootiful!
I have few saress! I have this beautiful orange color sares in crepe with golden work… Will bring a collection of sarees to one of your parties then…your event is giving me a chance to show the other side of me ;))). Do I sound like a peacock 😉 b
Nah, you just like to share the things you love. Nothing wrong with that. And it’ll broaden your blog a little. Take a little break from cooking. Hey, I should know. I’m the novice gardener!

I like the cushions and the folk music men. Thanks.
Thanks Jim :). I keep these cushions in my formal room, where the sofa is off white…and these bring so much color to the room :).
The folk music men are created by the crafters who live in small villages and these are very famous and common to find. Very light weight and hand painted :

Sonal, looking at this post has transported me back to a favorite handicraft shop I used to visit back in India! very nostalgic.
I know….I used to go to a place called Dilli Haat in Delhi and loved being there for hours just to be in the presence of all the admirable gorgeous art and food!
