Spicy Snow Peas {5 Ingredients + Under 5 minutes}
Can you beat that? Spicy Snow Peas {5 Ingredients + Under 5 minutes} – I can see your jaws dropping at the sound of it… 😀
I am coming to a point to believe that if there was any previous life for me, I was born as an East Asian in some part of the region. The way the cuisine calls out for me, is actually haunting. All of a sudden I will crave for those Umami flavors which whack my senses, till they are pleased with the fine flavors of balancing spices and condiments.
Spicy Snow Peas {5 Ingredients + Under 5 minutes} is one such recipe that was whipped at that “haunting” moment when my taste buds were craving for something Asian, and wouldn’t settle for less.
The dish is a perfect side to any Meal, particularly Asian and at the same time, it makes a clear statement for an amazingly delicious snack. A snack that is hot and spicy and can be done in the wok in practucally 2-3 minutes. I have mentioned “under 5 minutes” so that it doesn’t sound phony. 😉
The use of sesame oil in the dish complements the natural flavors of Snow Peas. I didn’t use any extra salt in the recipe. Why? Because the soy sauce used is adding enough piquant to the dish without killing the natural sugars of the snow peas.
The toasted sesame seeds are adding a great texture to already crispy Snow Peas.
For those, who want to know what Snow Peas are – These are a variety of Peas (legume), which are eaten whole in its pod, while still unripe. The peel of the snow peas lacks the stern fiber, as seen in regular field peas, therefore making it edible as whole. It is widely used in Chinese and other Asian cooking in soups, curries and stir fries. To learn more about Snow Peas, click here !
