Gather all the ingredients. Please Watch the Video attached for better understanding. Always read the NOTES for tips & more choices.
Prepare Streusel Topping or Crisp Topping
Meanwhile the apples are getting air fried, we can work on that streusel topping.
Take the same mixing bowl. Add All purpose flour, Quick cooking Oats ,Salt & brown sugar to it. Mix. Now add small cubes of cold butter to the flour mix. Start mixing with your fingers. You can use a fork or pastry cutter too.
Bring the ingredients together in a dough. You are not going to knead the dough, but just collect it together. Refrigerate this streusel dough till ready to use.
Air Frying Apple Crisp
Once you take the ramekins out, take that streusel dough out of the refrigerator too.
Now divide that streusel dough into 2 equal parts and spread on top of the baked apples. It doesn't matter if it is slightly uneven. Rustic appearance looks amazing.
Now place these uncovered ramekins back into the air fryer basket. Air fry further for 5 minutes to cook the top.
Once done, take these out. Top with your choice of topping and serve while still hot. I loved topping mine with coffee ice cream. Kids topped theirs with berry ice cream & cookie dough ice cream.

What kind of Dishes can I use for this recipe?
I have used ceramic ramekins for this recipe. These ramekins are oven safe.
In my understanding, you can use any dish for this recipe that is oven safe. If you can use it in the oven for baking, then you can use it in the air fryer as well.
Pyrex glass, metal baking container etc. for the oven can be used.
What size of dish can I use for this recipe?
I have used 4 ounce ramekins for the recipe. And these were perfect for 2 single portion Apple Crisp or crumble for this recipe.
It depends upon the size of the air fryer. You may fit more if your air fryer is larger. Or you can use a larger dish that fits inside the basket. It can be rectagular, square, oval or round. As far as it fits inside, it is good.
You may make 2 single portions or 1 large portion by baking it all together.
Can I make it ahead of time?
I would not advise you to make it ahead of time. Since it is a simple recipe, it can be made right before eating.
Although you can prep it and keep it ready to cooked. Prepare the apple filling. Fill the ramekins. Cover and set aside to be air fried as needed.
Similarly prepare crisp or crumble topping and refrigerate till ready to be applied and air fried.
Can I double this recipe?
Yes you can. And you can make these in batches.
What can I serve with Apple Crisp?
I served these with ice-cream. You can top these with caramel sauce, or whipped cream. Or eat as is.
