Instructions

    Preheat the  Air fryer

    • Preheat the Air fryer for 4-5 minutes and meanwhile you work on the prep of the recipe.

Prep the Baking Dish for Air fryer Frittata

    • Spray the 6 inches wide Cake Pan with butter or oil lightly. Then place the Parchment paper at the bottom of the pan.
    • TIP - This step is important or else frittata can get stuck at the bottom. Regular parchment paper won't burn in this recipe since it is not getting exposed to the heat directly.

    Prep the Vegetables

    • Wash all the  vegetables in a Kitchen Colander . Then chop all the vegetables into fine pieces and set aside. Also mince the fresh herbs fine and set aside.

    Prep the Frittata Batter

    Air frying Breakfast Frittata

    • Cover the pan with Aluminum foil and place it in the air fryer basket. Set the temp to 350*F and air fry for 15-20 minutes depending upon when the eggs set perfectly in the center. Remove the foil after 7-8 minutes of air-frying. This will avoid the over browning of the frittata and will keep it moist as well.

    Serving suggestion

    • Serve the frittata with bread or toast of your choice. You can add air fryer potatoes on the side and pair with air fryer banana bread for later. You can also pair it with a good salad on the side for brunch or meal options.

    IP Air fryer lid instructions

    • Follow the preparation as in the original post. Then air fry for about 15-18 minutes till eggs are set in the middle. Air fry for the first half with the foil on the pan and air fry the later half without the foil. This will prevent over-browning the frittata.

What other Vegetables can I use in this recipe?

Although I have used onions & bell peppers in this recipe, you can use whatever vegetables that you have handy.
Some recommended vegetables to use in this recipe are - mushrooms, spinach, kale, green onions. olives, tomatoes, broccoli, artichokes etc.,. Make a green frittata with all vegetables green.

What can I use substitute heavy cream with?

You can use milk, half & half, yogurt, greek yogurt, ricotta cheese to replace Heavy Cream.

How can I personalize my frittata?

You can personalize the frittata with your favorite seasonings and herbs.
    • Add some cheddar cheese if you like that.
    • One of my favorite way to personalize my frittata is seasoning it with Indian Spices making it a MASALA FRITTATA. Add some chopped ginger, chili, garlic to the mix and season with curry flavors like turmeric, garam masala, etc.
    • Make it a Mediterranean Frittata by adding olives and artichokes, and some zataar spices or harissa.
    • Personalize it however you want to.

How do you if the FRITTATA is done?

Cook the frittata in the oven just until the center is no longer jiggly and the edges are golden-brown. For extra reassurance it's done, you can place a sharp knife into the center of the frittata.

How can I avoid my Frittata to go flat?

Here is a tip - take out the frittata from the air-fryer when the eggs are still a little loose in the center. Let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to fully set before cutting. The eggs will settle down and firm up as they sit at the room temperature.

How to avoid OVER-BROWNING of the frittata at the top?

Since the air fryer acts a little like a broiler, so it browns the baked dishes quickly even though the center and the bottom is still not cooked.
TIP : I recommend covering the air frying dish with foil for the first half cooking time. And then cook the dish without the foil for the remaining time.

    How to store the leftovers?

You can easily store it in the refrigerator after cooling it completely at the room temperature. It stays good for about a week.

How can I use Frittata in a meal?

Use this recipe as a MEAL PREP. Make a batch and use a portion or 2 for any meal. Make a Frittata Sandwich or serve it with a hearty salad.

    Can I freeze it?

Although I have never frozen it but I think you can. Probably wrap it in individual pieces and freeze. Then thaw it overnight. Microwave or air fry for few minutes to reheat.

Can I make individual portions with this recipe?

Yes you can make 4 individual mini frittatas with this recipe. Use oven safe RAMEKINS. Time will vary for individual portions. It will be less, probably 7-8 minutes.

What kind of CONTAINERS can I use inside the Air fryer?

In my experience, any container that is oven safe is good inside the Air fryer too. Check out Air fryer Accessories that you can use.
