Paneer Jhalfrezi {10 Minutes Recipe}

Ohhh Yesss! You read it right!! Paneer Jhalfrezi {10 Minutes Recipe} has arrived and as you can see it says “10 Minutes Recipe”, therefore you should bookmark it.

More so, if you are a paneer lover, a last minute party host or a busy body who is running out of ideas what to cook tonight. Then you have more the reason to bookmark and share this recipe.

My dear VEGAN FRIENDS are in treat since this recipe can absolutely be made VEGAN by exchanging Paneer with Tofu or Seitan.

I love Paneer, for its texture, neutral flavor profile, high protein content, ease and convenience of using it in any recipe.

For those who are wondering what the heck this paneer is, then guys, Paneer is Indian Cottage Cheese or Queso cheese in Mexican Cuisine or Ricotta in Italian. The procedure for making these 3 is somewhat similar.

Here is my recipe of Making PANEER AT HOME .

What is Jhalfrezi?

The word Jhalfrezi originated during British Rule. It combined words from Bangla and Urdu.

Jhal meant Spicy Food in colloquial Bangla and Farezi or Pharezi meant suitable for diet in Urdu.

It is also confused sometimes with the Indo-Chinese dish. It is a popular dish in restaurants in UK, Indian and Nepal. [ source – wiki ]

Paneer Jhalfrezi 10 Minutes Recipe

If you know me, I am all about simple recipes, using shortcuts to accommodate delicious and nutritious eating in lesser time. My recipes are not only time efficient but are always open to be adapted by readers to their personal taste and needs.

This Paneer Jhalfrezi 10 Minutes Recipe originated in such a crunch of the time.

I had invited guests and it was a last minute gathering. While I prepared the menu, I completely lost the time in shopping, organizing and cleaning the house. I had a very little time in hand to actually prep the meal.

Paneer Jhalfrezi 10 Minutes Recip

I had already kept the menu simple, besides one PANEER Prep, that I wanted to elaborate on. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see that happening. I kept my ambitious Paneer prep on the side and thought of experimenting a little bit.

Yeah, You can call me crazy for that. But I am Spice Mistress. I know my spices well. I had a hunch on how to go about it.

So, dear friends, you have to read the recipe and amaze yourself at how easy, simple and finger licking delicious this Paneer Jhalfrezi {10 Minutes Recipe} will turn out to be.

A must try for sure and I promise it will be regular in your weekly menu. It is one of the most searched and tried and tested and loved recipe on my blog.

I found a 2-lb block of paneer at Costco and found this recipe to use some of it up. I made this as directed and ate it plain for a low-carb lunch. I got a nice sear on the paneer using my cast iron pan. It was so delicious and the perfect amount of heat. I didn’t miss the rice. Thank you for the recipe!

Beautiful Sonal! Love the colors, so vibrant and exotic with all the masala powders. I mentioned I cooked paneer last week too. I’ve made them both by just adding them to the gravy, and other times sauteed them for some crispiness. The latter does make a mess though doesn’t it, with the oil sputtering all over the stove? Any thoughts on how to avoid this?
