How do you make Lemonade Concentrate or Lemonade Syrup in Instant Pot?
It is an easy peasy simple recipe.
Prep The Lemons
- Wash the lemons in a Kitchen Colander in cold running water. Cut them into halves. Now squeeze the juice of the lemons either by hand. Or use a Lemon Juicer to squeeze out the max juice out of the lemons. Strain the lemon juice through a Strainer to avoid any seeds or pulp and keep aside.
TIP : If you will microwave these lemons for 30-45 seconds and then squeeze, then you will get the max amount of lemon juice from the lemons. Little heating makes the lemons soft and easy to juice.
Making SIMPLE SUGAR SYRUP in IP for Lemonade concentrate
- Place Sugar + WATER in the Inner Pot Liner of the Instant Pot. Plug it in and cook on HIGH PRESSURE COOK MODE. Follow NPR.
- Open the lid and remove the liner from IP. This is your SIMPLE SUGAR SYRUP that is slightly thick. Cool it down to the room temperature before adding any juice to it.
- You can use it as is in many mocktails, cocktails and drinks.
- You can flavor this SIMPLE SUGAR SYRUP with the flavor of your choice like vanilla extract, rum, coconut extract, Lime Juice, Orange Juice, or LEMON JUICE for this recipe.
Making LEMONADE CONCENTRATE
- Bring this simple sugar syrup to the room temperature. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to it. Make sure to strain the juice for seeds & pulp before adding to the syrup.
- Put it in an air tight Mason Jar and refrigerate.
TIP : There are many recipes that call for Pressure cooking Lemon Juice with the Sugar Syrup. Since that can make Lemonade Syrup a bit bitter sometimes, I avoid doing that. I always make my syrup first and then add the juice. Also I do not add lemon zest either for the same reason.
What is the SERVING SIZE for 1 person to make LEMONADE from the concentrate?
To make 1 serving, you need 2 to 4 Tbsp of LEMONADE SYRUP. Start with 2 tbsp first and then add more as needed. Take a 10-12 oz capacity glass. Fill half of it with some ice. Add 2tbsp Lemonade Concentrate. Fill the rest with either water or club soda or sparkling water. Mix with a stirrer. Taste. Add more lemon syrup of needed.
How to make ARNOLD PALMER from LEMONADE CONCENTRATE?
To make Arnold Palmer for 1 person, steep 1 bag of Black Tea in 4 ounce hot water for 5 minutes. Remove the bag and bring it to the room temperature or chill in refrigerator to make COLD TEA BREW. Take a 10-12 oz capacity glass. Fill half of it with some ice. Add the Cold TEA BREW +23tbsp Lemonade Concentrate. Fill the rest with cold water. Mix with a stirrer. Taste. Add more lemon syrup of needed.
How to make SHIKANJI or SPICED INDIAN LEMONADE from LEMONADE SYRUP?
To make SPICED INDIAN LEMONADE or SHIKANJI for 1 person, take a 10-12 oz capacity glass. Add kala Black Salt or Rock Salt, Cumin powder, Chaat Masala, few mint leaves, some grated ginger at the base of the glass. Take a cocktail muddler and muddle all the ingredients together. Now add 2 tbsp Lemonade Syrup. Mix it with other ingredients. Fill half of the glass with some ice. And fill the rest half with either chilled water or club soda. Taste. Add more syrup if needed.
How to make a PITCHER OF LEMONADE from concentrate?
Fill the pitcher with 4 cups of Cold Water, add crushed ice or ice cubes. Pour the lemonade concentrate to this. Mix well with a large ladle. Taste and add more water if needed.
What kind of Lemons to use for Lemonade?
I used large deep yellow lemons from the grocery store and 4 of these were enough to yield 1 cup of juice. Look for deep colored lemons. Touch them to see if they are hard or soft. Definitely go for the softer ones with thin skin.
Can this recipe be doubled?
YES YES YES. You can easily double or even triple the recipe.
How to store Lemonade Syrup?
Bring it to a complete room temp and cool down completely. Then pour in a mason jar or a clean glass bottle with tight lid. Secure the lid. REFRIGERATE.
How to make it less SUGARY?
Use only 1/2 cup of Sugar as opposed to 1 cup as mentioned for the main recipe.
Can you freeze the CONCENTRATE?
Due to high SUGAR CONTENT, it might not freeze well. Although you can freeze the lemonade.

Easy Instant Pot Lemonade Concentrate Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup Sugar Use 1/2 cup sugar for Tart or Sour Lemonade
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 cup LEMON JUICE from freshly squeezed lemons. About 4 large or 6 medium lemons.
Arnold Palmer for 1 serving
- 3-4 tbsp Lemonade Syrup or concentrate
- 1 pc Black Tea Bag
- 4 oz Water Boiled Hot
- Some Ice and Chilled Water
Spiced Indian Lemonade or SHIKANJI
- 2-3 tbsp Lemonade syrup
- 1/4 tsp Kala Namak or Rock salt
- 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
- 5-6 fresh Mint Leaves or 1/2 tsp dry mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp Ginger freshly grated or use the juice of it (this is optional but adds so much flavor to it)
