Air Fryer Asparagus Recipe Ingredients

Asparagus – Make sure to choose firm Asparagus. We love using thin stemmed Asparagus. Do not use frozen asparagus. Use fresh produce.

Olive Oil – You can use any cooking oil that is handy. If you are not vegan then you can use some melted butter as well.

Garlic Powder – If you do not have it, then use finely grated or minced fresh garlic.

Thyme – Thyme has a beautiful lemony flavor. It is much milder than rosemary but has similar flavor profile. You can either skip it or use dry rosemary if you have that. Or skip it altogether and just squeeze it with some lemon juice before serving.

  1. Please check the video. I have shown how to trip Asparagus in the video.
  2. Rinse your asparagus under cool water in a Kitchen Colander
  3. Trim the spears by cutting off the tough, woody bottom-half. It is about 1 to 1&1/2 inches from the bottom.
  4. You can also do this by snapping the woody part off with your hand — it should break off naturally.

Preparing Asparagus for Air-frying

  1. Pat the Asparagus dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Take a large Mixing Bowls and add asparagus to it. Add Olive Oil, Salt & Black Pepper, Garlic Powder , & Thyme to it.

Air- fry Asparagus

  1. Place the marinated Asparagus inside the Air fryer basket.
  2. Air-fry these at 400*F for about 7 minutes or till they are crisp or required consistency.

  4. If you are using thick stemmed Asparagus, then it might take about 10 minutes.
  5. Serve these warm with your dinner or eat it as a snack.

Can I make this recipe in advance?

I would not recommend doing that. Instead you can keep them ready in advance for air-frying. Wash, Trim, Mix with spices & oil. Store in refrigerator. And then air-fry before eating. It will take less than 10 minutes from start to finish. By the time you put the dinner on table, it is done – warm and yummy.

How to store Air-fryer Asparagus?

You can store your air fried asparagus in an airtight container. It should last in the fridge for up to a week. So make extra may be and use the leftovers in your meal prep.

Can I freeze it?

Yes you can. Although I wouldn’t do it. It looses its crispness and it is my opinion. Again simple and quick recipe, make it fresh.

Can I make this recipe in the OVEN?

Absolutely yes. Use the same instructions and bake in the oven at 425*F for 15 minutes or till done.

Can I make it in the pan on the gas top?

Yes you can. Heat a heavy bottom pan with oil. Add trimmed asparagus to the pan. Cook on medium heat for 7-8 minutes. Then season with the spices of your choice. Serve these warm.

How else can I season Asparagus?

Oh there are so many options. Here are some ideas –

  1. Season with Parmesan cheese and then air fry for more crispy and indulging side.
  2. Use dry rosemary.
  3. You can season it with curry powder if you are pairing it with Indian meal.
  4. Make them spicy with paprika and cumin.
  5. Cajun spice will go very well with it too.
